RCA Nightlife Guide: One Area, Very Different Clubs 🔥🇹🇭

RCA isn't a new Bangkok nightlife trend.

Royal City Avenue has been part of the city's nightlife story for more than 30 years. Its entertainment scene began developing in the 1990s, eventually becoming one of Bangkok's major nightlife destinations for a generation of young Thais, celebrities, musicians and clubgoers.

Three decades later, the venues have changed. The music has changed. The crowd has changed. But RCA is still partying.

And in 2026, the most important question isn't simply: “What are the best clubs in RCA?” It's: “Which RCA club is right for the night you actually want?” Because they're very different.

This is the first thing international visitors should understand. Don't imagine one compact strip of small bars where you simply walk out of one door and into another every few meters.

RCA stretches along a larger area, and its nightlife venues aren't all sitting directly next to each other.

More importantly, they don't offer the same experience.

• Hip-Hop?
• EDM?
• Huge production?
• Live Thai bands and local table culture?

Your answer can lead you to a completely different venue.

If we're taking an international friend to RCA for the first time and they don't know exactly what they want, Route66 is one of our usual starting points.

Why? Because one venue gives you several sides of RCA.

Route66 currently has three major areas centered around:

• Hip-Hop / international chart music

You can move between them and find the atmosphere that works for you instead of committing to one music style immediately.

From our experience, the Hip-Hop side can attract a solid mix of Thai and Asian visitors even during the week.

On Friday and Saturday, the other rooms come much more alive too.

How Much Does Route66 Cost?

On a regular night, based on our latest experience, expect roughly:

• Entry: around ฿300, including approximately ฿200 in drink credit
• Alcoholic drink: around ฿240

For a group of four to six sharing a table with a bottle of Johnnie Walker Red Label, our experience puts the cost at roughly ฿1,000 per person.

These are reference prices rather than guaranteed rates.

Halloween, Songkran, New Year and other special-event nights can have different pricing, so check the event before going.

🔥 ONYX — When You Know You Want EDM

If your answer to “What do you want tonight?” is simply:

EDM.

ONYX becomes an obvious RCA option.

It's one of the established names in RCA's electronic nightlife scene and offers a much more focused experience than moving between different music rooms.

You don't go there because you're looking for Thai live music.

You go because you want EDM.

VOID is another RCA option that's been gaining attention for its EDM/Techno direction.

For someone who begins at Route66 but later decides:

“Okay, now I want full EDM.”

VOID can make sense as the second stop.

Same district.

Very different night.

For a more premium, production-heavy EDM experience, look toward SPACEPLUS.

This is more about big visuals, production and a higher-end club environment than experiencing traditional Thai live-band and table-drinking culture.

And that's exactly what makes RCA interesting.

Someone choosing SPACEPLUS and someone choosing Old Leng might technically both say:

“We're going to RCA tonight.”

But they're not looking for the same night at all.

If you want to see another side of RCA, there's Old Leng.

With roots going back to the 1990s, the venue remains much more focused on Thai crowds and live music.

Here you'll find an experience closer to classic Thai-style nightlife:

• Tables.
• Bottles.
• Mixers.
• Groups of friends.
• Live bands.
• And people partying around their own tables.

It's a side of RCA that many international visitors never experience.

For Friday or Saturday, if you don't already have a table, we recommend arriving around 10 PM.

From our experience, a typical weekend develops something like this:

• 10 PM — Good arrival time, especially if tables matter to you.
• Midnight — The crowd starts building.
• 1 AM — Things become significantly busier.
• 2–4 AM — This is where much of the night's high-energy action happens. 🔥

Weekdays work differently.

If you aren't worried about securing a table, arriving around midnight can make more sense.

Sometimes a room can look that way. But saying “RCA is dead on weekdays” is too simplistic.

From our experience, some EDM and K-Pop areas can be noticeably quieter during the week. Route66's Hip-Hop area, however, can still draw Thai clubgoers and Asian visitors. On Friday and Saturday, you're much more likely to see energy across multiple rooms.

So don't simply ask:

“Is RCA busy tonight?”

Ask:

“Which club — and which room?”

The answers can be completely different.

Not necessarily.

RCA contains everything from local live-music nightlife to premium EDM clubs.

At Route66, for example, a regular night can be surprisingly affordable compared with nightclub prices in many international cities.

Move into premium bottles, VIP tables or higher-end venues and the budget can rise quickly.

So:

“How expensive is RCA?”

isn't really the right question.

“Which RCA experience do you want?”

is much more useful.

This is another misconception international visitors sometimes carry from certain tourist or red-light areas into completely different parts of Bangkok.

Don't.

RCA attracts plenty of ordinary Thai clubgoers going out with friends to drink, dance, celebrate birthdays, listen to music and have a night out.

Bangkok nightlife and Bangkok's red-light nightlife are not the same thing.

Understanding that distinction will give you a much more accurate picture of the city.

If we're taking an international friend to RCA for the first time, we'd choose a Friday or Saturday.

Explore all three main areas.

• Hip-Hop.
• EDM.
• Live Music/K-Pop.

Don't decide whether you like Route66 based on the first room you enter.

Walk around and see which crowd and music fit your mood.

Don't make the mistake of leaving too early.

The atmosphere after 1 AM can feel very different from the beginning of the night.

Around 2 AM, some nights can also feature high-energy dancer performances as part of the entertainment, including male dancers in certain shows.

If our friend is still going and says:

“I want more EDM.”

we'd move to ONYX or VOID for another hour or two.

That's enough.

You don't need to collect every RCA nightclub in one night.

The goal isn't to visit the most clubs. It's to find the version of RCA that fits you.

RCA has survived multiple generations of Bangkok nightlife.

Venues disappear. New ones arrive. Music trends change. Crowds change. But the district continues to reinvent itself.

What makes it interesting isn't that it has the biggest nightclub in the world or the cheapest drinks in Asia.

• Thai live music.
• Table culture.
• Hip-Hop.
• Thai and Asian crowds.
• Large-scale EDM clubs.
• Premium nightlife production.

All within RCA.

You can find bigger clubs in other countries. You can find cheaper clubs. You can find crazier clubs.

But the mix of Thai nightlife, Asian party culture, live music, Hip-Hop and massive EDM clubs packed into RCA still feels uniquely Bangkok. 🔥🇹🇭
